St. Vincent Medical Center Benefits

St. Vincent Medical Center offers a comprehensive, flexible benefits program that best meets the needs of our eligible associates and their families. Coverage begins after 30 days of employment.

Life Insurance

  • Employee Life
  • Seven options available: $10,000, $50,000 and flat dollar amounts equal to one to five times annual base salary.  Coverage also available for eligible dependents
  • Dependent Life – Spouse
  • Dependent Life – Child(ren)
  • Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D)
  • Five options available; $10,000 and flat dollar amounts equal to one to four times annual base salary.

Additional Benefits

Short Term Disability

40% of base salary after 14 days of disability. Optional percentage levels available

Paid Leave

Enables associates to received pay while taking time away from work for vacation, holidays, first 3 days of sick and personal time off. Accruals are calculated per pay period after three months of full-time employment. Hours accrued is based on length of service.

Sick Leave

Associates accrues 1.85 hours per pay period after three months of full-time employment; Hours can be used for any type of illness after three days

Transit Reimbursement

Associates are reimbursed for using public transportation 75% of the cost of the monthly pass

Tuition Reimbursement

St. Vincent Medical Center offers tuition reimbursement after (1) year full-time employment up to $1,200 per year.

Tax Shelter Annuity (TSA) 403(b)

Allows associates to save for retirement on a pretax basis; SVMC matches 35% up to the first 5% of gross earnings after 1,000 hours of service; 100% vested after 5 years of service

Free Parking

Parking at all of our locations is free for you.

Credit Union

A full service financial institution. Associates are eligible to participate as of date of hire.

Seton Medical Center Benfits

As part of the Verity Health System, Seton Medical Center and Seton Coastside provide competitive salaries and comprehensive benefit plans. Our benefit plans include medical, dental, vision, retirement and life insurance options, as well as vacation and extended sick leave accrual. Benefits plans vary for contractual and non-contractual employees.

Employee benefit eligibility

Full Time and Part Time employees who are regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for our benefit plan.

  • Free shuttle from Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) System to Daly City On-site access to San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans)

    Eligible full-time and part-time employees receive choices for Medical, Dental, Vision, Employee and Dependent Life, Long Term Disability (LTD), Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) and spending accounts (medical and dependent care options).

    Medical

    Choices are available for medical plan coverage, each of which offers competitive benefits and low out-of-pocket expenses. Currently, we offer Blue Shield PPO and Blue Shield POS.

    Dental

    Choices are available for dental coverage; in addition, orthodontic benefits are available for eligible adults and dependent children. Currently, we offer Delta Dental and Cigna plans.

    Vision

    Coverage is available for vision-related services and needs. Currently we offer VSP.

    Basic Life

    A basic level of life insurance is provided and additional coverage may be purchased.

    Dependent Life

    Spouse and dependent life is available at various levels of coverage.

    Spending Accounts

    Associates may establish spending accounts for annual out-of-pocket healthcare or dependent care expenses. All contributions to this account are made with pre-tax dollars.

    Long-term Disability (LTD)

    If you are disabled due to injury or illness, you may be eligible to receive LTD benefits, which replace a portion of your lost income. A basic level of LTD is provided and other levels are available to purchase.

    Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D)

    To supplement your life insurance benefit, you have the option to select AD&D insurance.

    Paid Time Off (PTO)

    PTO accrues each pay period based on years of service and combines traditional holidays, vacation and sick time into a single account.

    Tax Shelter Annuity (403(b))

    This benefit offers an additional source of retirement income by allowing you to voluntarily contribute towards your retirement. The TSA Plan has the advantage of tax-deferred savings, as well as an employer-provided matching contribution, if eligible.

    Verity Health System offers retirement plans for all employees. The plans offered vary by employee group and union affiliation.  If you are eligible to participate, you join on your date of hire. The full cost of the retirement plans are paid for by the employer
