Advanced Diagnosis and Treatment for Digestive Disorders

Your digestive system is what helps your body process and extract nutrients from the foods you eat. It includes your mouth, your intestine and your colon as well as organs like your liver, pancreas and gallbladder. A gastrointestinal problem is when your digestive system isn’t working like it should.

Problems Caused By Digestive Discorders

  • Acid reflux: Pain caused by the acidic fluids in your stomach backing up into your esophagus
  • Esophagitis: Swelling or infection of the esophagus
  • Gallstones: Hard particles that form in the gallbladder
  • Peptic ulcers: Sores in the lining of the stomach
  • Anemia: A shortage of hemoglobin and red blood cells in the blood

Procedures Provided by Our Staff

No matter what your symptoms are, our dedicated team of experts and specialists will provide you with accurate diagnosis and advanced treatment.

  • Colonoscopy: A thin, flexible tube is used to view your rectum and colon.
  • Upper endoscopy: A thin, flexible tube is used to examine your esophagus, stomach and part of your small intestine.
  • Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP): A test that uses an endoscope and x-rays are used to examine the liver, gallbladder and pancreas.

Preventing Gastrointestinal Disorders

In addition to treatment from the St. Vincent GI Lab, there are also certain things you can control on your own.
