It is important to know that you will receive emergency care at Seton Medical Center, even if you do not have health insurance coverage.
Each year, more than 29,000 patients receive emergency medical care in the 18-bed Emergency Department at Seton Medical Center. Our Emergency Department is open 24/7 to patients of all ages.
Our emergency room physicians and support staff are specialists in emergency medical care, ensuring they are able to provide excellent care for any illness, injury or trauma. They are also multilingual and can communicate with all patients to understand their health care needs.
Emergency Stroke Care at Seton
Seton is a designated Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission, the leading accrediting body for hospitals in the U.S. Our stroke program has earned the Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association for excellence in stroke care. This award recognizes our commitment to patient care and to improving patient survival rates.

Emergency Care for Children and Infants at Seton
Emergency care for children and infants is different than emergency care for adults. Their growing bodies require specialized care. The emergency room physicians and staff at Seton have specialty training and experience with childhood emergency care.
This includes:
- Pediatric airway management and CPR
- Resuscitation of infants and children
- General pediatric emergency care
Seek immediate medical help if your child exhibits any of the following warning signs of a medical emergency:
- Confusion, headache or vomiting following a head injury
- Uncontrolled bleeding
- Inability to stand up or unsteady walking
- Unconsciousness
- Abnormal or difficult breathing
- Discoloration of skin or lips
- Difficulty eating
- High, sustained fever
- Severe vomiting or diarrhea
Please bring your child’s medical history and any medications (in their original containers) with you to the Emergency Department.
