Community Raises Money for SLRH Breast Care Centers

Nov 15, 2018 | St. Louise News

Thanks to the generosity of our community, St. Louise Regional Hospital Foundation received three local contributions. These contributions will help provide FREE Mammograms to uninsured or underinsured women in Santa Clara and San Benito Counties.

Live Oak

Live Oak High School Cheerleaders

The Live Oak High Cheerleaders raised over $1,000 for the school’s Pink Night and it was generously matched by Medtronic, resulting in a GRAND TOTAL of $2,592! The cheerleaders sold pink pom poms and cute cheer bows, as well as collected donations from the crowd. This is the second year that the cheerleaders have raised money for our Breast Care Centers. Special thanks to cheer mom Kelly Primeau for her leadership of the fundraiser. Their support helps provide free to low cost mammograms to our underserved population.

Stratford Elementary School

The wonderful kids from Stratford Elementary School in Morgan Hill raised $1,000 for the Breast Care Centers in Gilroy and in Morgan Hill. This was the first year that they’ve raised money for the foundation. Kindergarten teacher, Karla Primeau (sister of Live Oak cheer mom Kelly Primeau) was instrumental in helping the Student Council put together this amazing drive. John Hennelly was presented with the check and spoke to the students about what their donation means to our community.

Gilroy Rodeo

Tough Enough to Wear Pink

The Gilroy Rodeo Kicking Cancer Club hosted a dance with a Silent Auction fundraiser during rodeo weekend to raise money for the St. Louise Breast Care Centers. They also had help from Cowboys Kicking Cancer who walked through the stands with pink cowboy boots soliciting people to “Fill the Boot.”
