St. Francis Medical Center Honors Veterans
Nov 14, 2018 | St. Francis News
St. Francis Medical Center’s third annual Veterans Day celebration recognized doctors, nurses, and staff who have served, or are currently serving, in our country’s armed forces. Organized by St. Francis trauma surgeon and U.S. naval officer Jonathan Pryor, MD, the event featured keynote speaker Dr. Jeffrey Scott Upperman, a nationally recognized pediatric surgeon and associate professor of surgery, who shared lessons he learned throughout his tours of duty in the military. Dr. Upperman underscored the importance of planning, innovating, and implementing in all we do, whether it be for military, professional, or personal purposes. Above all, he emphasized “family first,” which resonated with our St. Francis family and everyone in attendance. We thank Dr. Upperman for imparting his wisdom, Dr. Pryor for coordinating yet another memorable and meaningful event, and all of the veterans who have served our country and continue to serve our community through their dedicated work.
